This is our second visit to the spectacular Stuckgowan House where we enjoyed a wonderful week marking the start of the New Year with all the family. In spite of its proportions, the house remains surprisingly cosy with an impeccable heating and hot water system and the fabulous log fires are a must once night falls.
You will find everything you could possibly need inside the house. The kitchens are well equipped and there is a good utility room with ample drying facilities. There are candles aplenty to add that special atmosphere to evenings around the large and imposing, while still intimate, dining table as well as an excellent sound system for background music.
Every comfort has been considered in the beautifully appointed and sumptuous bedrooms and bathrooms. Linens and towels are crisp yet soft and the complimentary soaps and lotions smell divine.
We enjoyed some invigorating walking in the lush dense grounds around the property. All communal living areas benefit from floor to ceiling windows and the scenery is dramatic and majestic, come rain or shine. The bar/games room and cinema room provide evening entertainment to cater to different tastes but an absolute highlight is a dip in the hot tub with its breathtaking views across the Loch.
You’ll receive a warm and friendly welcome from caretakers, David and Michele, who remain on call to help with anything you need during your visit. Indeed, nothing is too much trouble and they go far and beyond what is required to ensure your stay runs smoothly.
Stuckgowan is an exceptional house that can’t fail to make an impression. We certainly have come away with some truly unforgettable memories. Thank you ‘team Stuckgowan’!
We were a party of 18 celebrating a 50th birthday for a week. The house is amazing and so much bigger than it appears in the photos. At first i wondered how we would all fit in, but when we arrived it all became clear. The house is perfectly equipped for anything you could possibly want during your stay and is big enough that you can escape your friends or gather together in the beautiful sitting room, dining room or kitchen. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a really high standard with incredibly comfy beds ( I want to ask the owner what make they are as we all slept so well!). From the cinema room to the hot tub and gym, you hardly need to leave the house and it’s situation on the edge of the loch with stunning views was perfect. We were very sad to leave. Thank you for renting this house to us for all our friends to enjoy. We’d love to return for the next special occasion!
2016 was our groups third time of visiting stuckgowan house, which says it all about how much we all love it there.
Absolutely no complaints with any equipment, or lack of equipment. If you’ve never been before, the pictures don’t even do the house, and particularly it’s location, justice, and the size and space of the whole property, has allowed some of the best ever memories for me and my friends, for the past three years, and we’re certainly planning on making it a 4th year.

As soon as we got out of the car and entered the hallway we knew we were in for a treat!! The pictures do not prepare you for the size of this property – it was massive!!! The house is grand, clean and full of character. It was homely and comfortable too. I got married to my partner of 10 years (to the day!!) in the main sitting room, and the house allowed us to hold the most beautiful and intimate wedding with two families that due to distance, don’t usually get to spend much time together. We thank the team at Stuckgowan for making this possible. Thank you. Lucy and Liam.
We stayed for two nights for my friends hen weekend. The house exceeded all expectations, it’s more beautiful than the pictures. The view over the Loch is spectacular, we were lucky enough to enjoy the scenery in the hot tub with some sunshine. Every room is very comfortable and well decorated. Everyone one of our party would love to return someday.
I cannot begin to explain how amazing Stuckgowan house was as a venue for a hen weekend. The house was breathtaking as well as the views and it still felt huge even with 18 women staying there.
Perfect venue for any type of weekend getaway. The girls all loved it and the bride to be was so overcome with emotion on seeing her house for the weekend.
