Additional services

This is a self-catering property with excellent facilities for cooking and preparing food. However, for those days when you’d rather not cook, we have some great local restaurants in the area. And if you prefer to dine in, we can also recommend private chefs and caterers to come to the house and cook for you. What’s more, we can help to arrange waiting staff, butler services, daily housekeeping, transfers and activities. Please contact us for further details.

The history of Stuckdarach

Stuckdarach was built in 1820 for the McMurrich family as part of their country residence, on an estate which covered 5000 acres of land. This was originally the Estate Manager’s house, with the estate office, workshop, stables, tack room and boat house, plus a walled garden originally for fruit and vegetables. When we acquired the estate, the B-listed building was derelict and roofless. We completely renovated it inside and out, building a new structure within the original stone walls. It is now a modern contemporary house with underfloor heating, high insulation levels, triple-glazed windows, constant hot water and a high level of finish, perfect for family gatherings, short breaks and longer holidays.
